The Erasmus+ KA220 project titled “Food Literacy”, supported by the Turkish National Agency and coordinated by METU MEBIVA, is set to be successfully completed at the end of this month following a 24-month implementation period.

Carried out in partnership with Artuklu University, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, EKAP Association, Compass GmbH, and Euroactiva, the project produced food literacy training modules, a handbook, educational videos, and a mobile application called FoodApp. These project outputs were introduced to hundreds of participants through dissemination activities held in various cities across Türkiye and Europe.

Project promotion activities were carried out in Istanbul, Isparta, Ankara, Mardin, Muş, Mersin, Gaziantep, Tokat, Elazığ, and Brussels. During the events, which extended from Mardin to Brussels, participants were informed about the concept of food literacy, healthy and conscious food consumption, sustainable nutrition habits, and the digital educational materials developed within the scope of the project.

The dissemination events received support from governorates, provincial directorates of national education, the Turkish Language Association, universities, colleges, and non-governmental organizations. Thanks to these widely attended activities, the project outputs reached different age groups, educational institutions, and local stakeholders.

As a result of the work carried out over 24 months, the educational content and digital materials developed within the project are expected to raise awareness about food literacy and provide practical resources for educational processes. The project will conclude successfully at the end of this month, leaving behind sustainable and widely accessible outputs.
